learning code of the hydrology module in CESM2

Dear scientists of NCAR,
I want to learn the code of the hydrology module in the CESM2, are there any methods and documentations that are helpful to understand the structure of the hydrology module?

any reply is appreciate, thanks in advance.

The CLM5 Technical Note has a chapter on hydrology:


I don't know of any tools/methods describing the code itself, other than reading through the comments in the code and understanding the call structure.
