Missing leves in MERRA2

Hello!

I'm using the compset FWSD --res f09_f09_mg17 and I want to nudge toward MERRA2. However I get the error:

ERROR: nudging_update_analyses_fv: nlon= 288 Nudge_nlon= 288
ERROR: nudging_update_analyses_fv: nlat= 192 Nudge_nlat= 192
ERROR: nudging_update_analyses_fv: plev= 72 pver= 88
ERROR: nudging_update_analyses_fv: analyses dimension mismatch

I'm assuming the error is because FWSD has 88 levels and MERRA2 only have 72 levels?

1. Are there MERRA2 files which have 88 levels? (I'm using the years 2009 and 2010)
2. Can I modify the MERRA2 files in some way?
3. If not, can I use another compset to achieve the same results but with 72 levels?

I'm using cesm2.1.3
I am running on the machine Tetralith

MERRA2 files from: CISL RDA: MERRA2 Global Atmosphere Forcing Data
Years to run: 2009 and 2010
Compset: FWSD
Compset longname is: HIST_CAM60%WCTS%SDYN_CLM50%SP_CICE%PRES_DOCN%DOM_MOSART_SGLC_SWAV

I understood from the answer from mmills that the levels in MERRA2 (72) can be lower than the model (88)? Is there a setting in the user_nl_cam that I have missed or typed in wrong? Nudging on a different number of levels

I have also attached the version of cesm, user_nl_cam and log files

Any help would be much appreciated
