month deletion during time-fixed forcing data

hi,

i have a question about output result frequency, i defined the RUN_STARTDATE value "2002-01-01", and STOP_DATE value "20021231" with default monthly average output with startup run, i expected the output result will be from 2002-01 to 2002-12, but actually only eleven months' result appeared from 2002-01 to 2002-11, then i changed the STOP_DATE value "20030101", and obtained twelve months result.

for Qian forcing data from 1948-2004, according to the above appearance, i cannot get the whole annual result in 2004 only from 2004-01 to 2004-11.

can you give me some advices for this month deletion during time-fixed forcing data?

thanks

I am not familiar with the Qian forcing data from 1948-2004. but typically CESM interpolates between the dataset timestep to get forcing at the particular date. For instance, say you have monthly forcing data (at mid-month). So you have data for Jan 15, ... Nov15, Dec 15.
When the model run the month Dec 2004, it will interpolates:- for the first part of December between Nov 15, 2004 and Dec 15, 2004  forcing data
- for teh second part of December between Dec 15, 2004 and Jan 15, 2005 forcing dataSo to have the full month of December you need a value for Jan 2005.
An option might be to use the value for January 2004 (assuming that Jan 2004 and Jan 2005 are similar) and to add this at the end of the forcing dataset.
