MPI and clump&chunk

Dear all,

I am seriously thinking that the term "chunk" and "clump" are related with the target computer's compiler/processers, and sound that we can talk about them only under "MPI" conditions (i.e. SPMD is true). My question is: If I use single CPU (no mpi, no OpenMP), can I still work on "chunk" and "clump" for my resaerch? I am really getting confused at the definations of them. Thanks, Joyce:confused:
