Outputting carbon flux variables with CLM4.5-SP

I am currently running a series of offline CLM 4.5 simulations using compset ICLM45, each with minor code changes. The ultimate goal of the simulation is to compare the simulaitons to flux tower observations of NEE, GPP, and ecosystem respiration. As such, I have chosen to use the satellite phenology compset rather than CN. However, without CN turned on, the model does not output (and maybe does not even calculate) many land carbon flux variables such as NPP, NEE, GPP, etc. I have tried moving these variables outside of the "if' statement in histFldsMod.F90, but the resulting history files do not have data for these variables (i.e., the portion of the .nc file for that variable is empty). Therefore, I am assuming the model, as I have configured it, is not calculating these variables. Is it possible to calculate these variables in SP mode? If so, how would I go about doing this? The entire purpose of the study is to create simulations that have as much observational forcing data as possible (thus the reason for SP). Therefore, I have considered the possibility of turning on CN and SP, but I am not sure that this is possible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!Nick
