Question about TLAI in CLM

Hi, everyone. I have a question about the TLAI. I want to validate the simulated LAI by remote sensing product. According to MODIS, LAI is defined as the one-sided green leaf area per unit ground area in broadleaf canopies and as half the total needle surface area per unit ground area in coniferous canopies. In CLM5, TLAI is the sum of both LAISUN and LAISHA. I want to confirm whether the TLAI in CLM should be equal to twice the remote sensing LAI. Thanks a lot.

TLAI should be directly comparable to MODIS LAI.
