Question on BVOC-to-SOA Conversion

Dear Community,

I am interested in comparing the differences in BVOC species (e.g., ISOP) contributions to SOA formation rates between two sets of atmospheric-only simulations—one with higher O₃ concentrations and one with lower O₃ concentrations.

Could you please advise which variable would be most appropriate to examine for this purpose? Would r_ISOP_O3 be suitable?

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Best regards,

Hi Zunyir,
I talked with the team and here is the answer:
Variables such as 'r_ISOP_O3' provide the reaction rates for individual reactions in molecules/cm3/s (for each gridbox). You can save them in history output at the frequency appropriate for your research. You will have to examine the chemical mechanism you are using in your simulation to find the reaction labels and decide which reaction rates you want to save.
Best,
Rebecca
