Hello!

I've been working on conducting fully coupled simulations for PD (e.g., 2006-2011) and the future (e.g., 2089-2094) under different scenarios (SSP245 and 585) in CESM2.1.4 on Derecho.

I attempted the simulation using the restart files generated on Cheyenne, but encountered an error message.

Restart file:
/glade/campaign/collections/cmip/CMIP6/restarts/b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.001/b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.001.rest.2010-01-01-00000.tar

Error message:
"mismatch of input dimension 62336 with expected value 62125 for variable landunit".

After following the instructions in the log files, I set "use_init_interp = .true." in user_nl_clm. Subsequently, I got the following in the log files.

Error message:
"Output requests:
--------------------------------------------------
no dedicated output process, any file system dec0560.hsn.de.hpc.ucar.edu 172: starttype: initial".

Does anyone have insight into what might be happening here? Alternatively, does anyone know which restart files or model versions would be suitable for my purpose on Derecho?

Many thanks!

Sorry to be obvious here, but did you untar the file? You might have to wipe out the init_generated_files directory and rebuild.

You should probably also move to CESM2.1.5. That is the officially supported version on derecho.

Thank you so much for your responses and suggestions, David! I've now transitioned to CESM2.1.5, and it's working really well!
