Running off-line CLM 4.0 with my owen forcing data

Hi,
I am pretty new to CLM, so struggling with model setup- even basic setup. I would like to make regional simulations with several different sets of forcing data.

I think I was able to create input datasets by following the user's guide section 2, so the model grid configuration (domain, resolution) are set.

Now, I am trying to set my own atmospheric forcing. I am looking at section "Running with your own atmosphere forcing" in the user guide and other pages liked from this section, but I don't get direction to do. I think I need to have three datm stream files if I am right. if so, how can I create these?

hope somebody helps me...

both the clm and data model user guides should be of some help. the stream input files are netcdf and should generally match that format that is there now including the time axis. the stream text files that are used to setup the streams allow for flexible input fields names and other things. we do not provide tools for generating these files. if you want to generate your own forcing data, you'll have to write some tools yourself.
