soil moisture

Hi,

I want to calculate soil moisture including ice. I was just wandering if this sounds right:

SOILLIQ+SOILICE-QDRAI

I would not include surface runoff as I am only concerned with the moisture that has penetrated the soil in the first place correct? Also, since sub-surface drainage is only a single level I assume it is the average of the 10 soil levels...?

Thanks and happy new year!

Only SOILLIQ+SOILICE sounds right. These represent water content, while QDRAI is a flux out of the soil and has different units. QDRAI is water draining out of the bottom few soil layers.
