SOS:The function of codes in documents of esmf and timing

I have some questions. First, I don't know the role of the codes in the documents named esmf( CAMcam1modelsutilsesmf) and timing(CAMcam1modelsutilstiming). Second, How the revolution of the earth is carried out in the CAM2.
