Sparse vegetation in the tropics using dynamic vegetation

What version of the code are you using?
I am using CESM2.1.5 with CLM5.0

Describe every step you took leading up to the problem:
I am working with the following component set that enable dynamic vegetation:
2000_CAM60_CLM50%BGCDV-CROP_CICE%PRES_DOCN%DOM_MOSART_CISM2%NOEVOLVE_SWAV

The previous component does not have a default "finidat" so I had to get one. I performed spinup process using the following component set which also has dynamic vegetation:
2000_DATM%GSWP3v1_CLM50%BGCDV-CROP_SICE_SOCN_MOSART_CISM2%NOEVOLVE_SWAV

The Accelerated Decomposition (AD) Mode, I ran for 250 years until I achieved equilibrium and then for pAD I ran for another 250 years ( I attached the results for this part). I read that is a bit difficult to achieve equilibrium for TOTECOSYSMC and TOTSOMC variable.

The last restart file for my spinup process I used it as my "finidat" for my control experiment.

Describe your problem or question:
Dear CESM Staff

I am working with: 2000_CAM60_CLM50%BGCDV-CROP_CICE%PRES_DOCN%DOM_MOSART_CISM2%NOEVOLVE_SWAV
I know that DV is no longer supported, instead FATES is available ( deals with atmospheric forcing data) . The situation is that I have to conduct experiments where atmosphere is not prescribed. I have ran my control experiment to model 100 years (1901 - 2000) and I have seen that for TLAI variable for example vegetation is very sparse in the tropic region. I checked many of my output files as well my output files for my spinup process, and I found that TLAI has very small values in this region.

Then, I decided to performed an experiment using a component set without dynamic vegetation ( BHIST ), and I saw that for this component set TLAI has big values in the tropic region. I checked the PCT_NAT_PFT variable too, and I found the same behavior: vegetation is scarce or non-existent in the tropics using dynamic vegetation.

I think that if I simulate for more years for my spin-up process, TLAI will not increase because it has reached equilibrium. I don't know if this is normal behavior when using dynamic vegetation? Do you have any suggestions for a file I should review?

I would greatly appreciate any suggestion related with my situation. Thank you in advance .
