transient run instruction

Dear all, i am planning to do a transient run with iCESM with changing CO2, topography and insolation and so on using iCESM1.3 .
I have did paleo runs for LGM for instance, but I am not familiar with transient simulations. Are there any tutorials available for performing a transient run?
Meanwhile, I found the document at https://www2.cesm.ucar.edu/events/tutorials/2022/files/Zhu-Jiang_CESM-Tutorial-2022-Isotopes.pdf might be helpful but I was not able to access the file for two days...

Many thanks :))))

Yes, sorry, the www2.cesm.ucar.edu website is currently down for maintenance.

Broadly speaking, a transient run is very similar to a non-transient run, but requires choosing a transient compset (e.g., BHIST for an 1850 - present day configuration). Scientifically, there can be some additional issues related to making sure you start from a spun-up state. which might be particularly important for your work with isotopes.

I am reaching out to a couple of people here to see if they can provide that tutorial or further information.

Thanks very much, Bill. I will wait for www2 back online and meanwhile I will try to set it up by myself too.

Sorry that we don't have a tutorial on running paleoclimate transient simulation.

I agree with Bill that you want to study the historical simulation (BHIST) and set up the transient forcing files accordingly.

Note that a "transient" topography (or paleogeography) is done manually, meaning that you have to switch topography, bathymetry, domain, mapping and other files yourself.

Thanks, very much, I have done several paleo equilibrium runs and let me try to set up a transient run.
