WACCAM and MERRA2 nudging vertical levels

Dear community,

I'm currently preparing a simulation with CESM2.1.5 using the TSMLT1 mechanism (pp_waccm_tsmlt_mam4). I'm going to start from the initialization file f.e21.FWsc2010climo.f09_f09_mg17.cesm2.1-exp011.001_v2.cam.i.0003-01-01-00000.nc and I want to nudge with the MERRA2 Global Atmosphere Forcing Data file but the vertical levels look different between WACCAM and MERRA2.

Do I have to regrind the files at the same levels or does the model adapt?

I hope my question isn't too vague or incomprehensible.

Thank you for your anwers,

Loïc VIEILLE
