Wetalnd Paramerization

Hello All,

Can some one explain me how wetalnd has been parametrized in CCSM3.
Thre are diffrent sources of inforation available in literature, but i could not find complete set of information on weland paramerization. Some of the available infromation are given bewlo:

1) Coe and Bonan 1997: marsh (wetlands) of 6.3 m deep water body with no vertical mixing.

2) Carrinton et al. 2001: bare saturated soil

3) Dai et al. 2001: wetalnd soils are treated as satuarted soil when calculting temperature.

My main question in: wether wetland is stading body of water or satuarted soil?

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

thanks
sanjiv

You need to look at the CLM 3 Technical Description (Oleson et al. 2004), which is available from the clm distribution web-page. To answer your specific question, look at page 102, where it says that a clm wetland is a column of water.
