What is the best PE layout configuration for an all active component run?

I am intending to run CESM 1.2.2. What is the best way to have the CESM configuration for the B component set? (I believe a hybrid of threads and tasks will be good)Can you provide me suggestions for two configurations1) 1 node - 16 processors2) 8 nodes - 16 processors each (128 total processors)And what exactly are component instances in the PE layout? What role do they play?  Is the second configuration as provided in http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm1.0/cesm/cesm_doc_1_0_4/x2574.html, a good way to run the case?

Usually I would have the cpl use the same pe layout as atm and lnd and ice split the atm pe's with land getting about 1/3 and ice 2/3'sit's also good if models divide evenly over node boundaries - so if there are 8 pes per node each component should use a multiple of 8 pes.
