Why are there NAN values in western China?

Hello everyone,

I ran a case based on the F component set and it worked successfully, but I have a question, why do some results (such as zonal wind, temperature, etc.) have NAN values in western China?

Thanks in advance.

Since there are dozens of F compsets, and various configurations within them, without more information I can not help you. I can say that NaN values in fields like temperature are worrisome and could very likely indicate there is a problem with your run.

If you would like help in figuring out what is wrong, please include the information requested at: Information to include in help requests

Thank you cacraig.

I'm very happy this is the first time someone has answered my questions, and I've read the links you sent. What is the top level of CESM clone? How do I find it? I am using the CESM 1.0 version.

Here's how I created the case:
Create the case./create_newcase using the F component set, the resolution is f19_f19, and the used SSt data is default(sst_HadOIBl_bc_64x128_clim_c050526.nc). I hope the results will be from 1960 to 2021. My aim is to change the South Pacific SST and analyze atmospheric circulation processes. When I look at East Asia, I find that there are NAN values in western China.

The following is the log file for this case.

Thank you again for your help!!!

I'm sorry I found my own mistake. The output results do not have NAN values, which are present in the lower layers of the atmosphere!

Thank you a lot..

I am glad that you found your problem. For future reference, CESM1 is no longer a supported release, so assistance with it will be limited. We recommend that everyone use CESM2.1 or newer.
