But from this list it seems that will be hard as well right? In that case I guess 1980 would be the best replacement for my goals.
I would need the restart files for 3 ensemble members of the cmip6 historical simulation.

Which three runs of the nine with 1980 restarts do you want?

What would be your suggestion in order to get the most representative ensemble based on using 3 members only?
I guess a member on the upper, lower and middle regarding temperature would be ideal, but if you have no indication of this just members 1 to 3 would be fine as well.

I've placed the 1980 restart from runs 001, 002, and 003 on anonymous ftp at

ftp://ftp.cgd.ucar.edu/pub/strandwg/BHIST

Each file is ~20 GB in size.

Let me know when you've retrieved the files as our ftp space is very small and aggressively scrubbed.

I assume this also implies that I would better use restart files from the esm-hist simulation in contrast to historical as I had requested before.

Hence could you provide me with the restart files for 3 ensemble members of the esm-hist simulation for the year 1980?

Maybe I just need one of them because I just need the restart files for cesm cmip6 historical runs for the year 2000.when I changed the start date of BHIST simulation,it interrupted with a error called Netcdf error CFC11 not find,I guess the 1850 have not this variable
