how to separate biogeological and biochemical effects by setting up the CESM components?

Hi,all!
I would like to know how to separate biogeological and biochemical effects by setting up the CESM components?

I guess it is to turn off the cycling of the carbon and nitrogen pools in the CLM, does this mean I need to use CLM50%BGC (turn on the carbon and nitrogen pools) and CLM50%SP (turn off the carbon and nitrogen pools) to run?
