Issue about using AMWG Diagnostics Package

Dear hannay,Thanks for your detailed reply.(1) I follow the instruction in the C-shell script and "/" is added at the end of test_path and cntl_path. But the same errors show up.(2) For the years, I run my simulation from 2001, so should I set "test_first_yr" and "cntl_first_yr" as 2001? Also, there is no output files from CAM-CHEM named "xxxx_climo.nc". Is it generated by the AMWG package or should I turn on something during the CAM-CHEM running?(3) I have renamed the CAM-CHEM output files like "0001-01.nc", "0001-02.nc", etc, and I specify the "test_casename" and "cntl_casename" as "0001". Should that be correct? Thank you very much for your help.Jian

If you run your simulation from 2001, you should set "test_first_yr" and "cntl_first_yr" to 2001.The xxxx_climo.nc are created when running teh AMWG when you set the variable cntl_compute_climo=0  and  test_compute_climo=0 You should NOT rename your files. The filenames should be what is coming from CESM. I am sorry if the documentation is confusing. If you casename is:  f2000c5.001 and you should in 2001, your files should be: f2000c5.001.cam.h0.2001-01.nc f2000c5.001.cam.h0.2001-02.nc...

Dear hannay,Thanks a lot for your help. My output name is like "BMOZ.cam.0001-01.nc". I put all the files under the test_path and cntl_path, with "/" added at the end of those paths. I also set "test_first_yr" and "cntl_first_yr" to 2001 as you suggested. However, I still get the same errors as above.Another weird thing is that even after I turn off the cntl_compute_climo and test_compute_climo, the package is still trying to calculate the climos data. Is there any other variables that should be turned off?In addition, is there any user guide I can follow instead of the short description in the script?Thank you very much and look forwards to your reply. Jian

How did you set the casename ? If you output file is BMOZ.cam.0001-01.ncthe casename should be: BMOZIs it it what you used ?
At this time, the only documentation for the AMWG diag script is what is included in the script.

Dear hannay,Thanks for your reply. Yes, I set casename as "BMOZ". For the test_first_yr, I try either "2001" and "0001", but both return the same errors.I just feel confused why the package is still trying to calculate the climos data even if I turn it off (test_first_yr = 1).My CAM version is CAM4. Do you have any suggestion about which version from the repository I should use? Thank you for your help. Jian
