Output at hourly scale, but is a monthly mean result from CESM

Dear all,

Is it possible to output houly-scale monthly mean data by setting hist_nhtfrq, which means for each month, they are only 24 files, not 24* day for each month.

This sounds like a question about the land model specifically because "hist_nhtfrq" is a CTSM field. I think you are asking to create a 24 hour composite for each month, which is not something the model supports, as far as I know. I'll move this thread to the land model forum, though, to see if anybody has more information than I do.

@katec is correct, you will have to post-process the model output yourself to obtain such files.
