I encountered the following problem: After I submitted my task in my supercomputer system, cesm.exe was running, but only the cpl.log file was generated in the run directory, and there was no other output, and no error message. What should I do?

The last few lines of the cpl.log file are written as follows:
(seq_timemgr_clockPrint) Intervl yms = 9999 0 0
(seq_timemgr_clockPrint) Alarm = 9 seq_timemgr_alarm_pause
(seq_timemgr_clockPrint) Prev Time = 00001201 00000
(seq_timemgr_clockPrint) Next Time = 99991201 00000
(seq_timemgr_clockPrint) Intervl yms = 9999 0 0

tfreeze_option is mushy

(seq_mct_drv) : Initialize each component: atm, lnd, rof, ocn, ice, glc, wav, esp
(component_init_cc:mct) : Initialize component atm

Can you tell if the model is hanging or if it crashed? When you run it and it gets to this point, see if it is still running in the machine's batch system, or if it has exited. That can help narrow down the problem.

If it's exiting prematurely, it may be because you haven't given it enough wallclock time (try ./xmlquery JOB_WALLCLOCK_TIME: is it exiting after that (possibly short) amount of time?)

Another likely cause for a crash without any messages is running out of memory. Try giving the job more processors (you can see the current number with ./xmlquery NTASKS).
