Hi,everyone!!!
I want to change the BC emission files for my research. So, I use PYTHON creating my own emisiion files which same as the original emisiion files and successfully read by the model, but After run for a while,it gave me the error messages!

I am moving this to the CAM-Chem forum as emission files are handled by that section.

Note that they may request more information. We typically request that users refer to the following: Information to include in help requests to give us enough details to help users debug their problems.

They may be able to help you debug without this information. They will let you know.

I can provide any information if someone want to know more. Now i am using the CESM2.1.3 with BHIST f09_g17 and I can run the model successfully without changing any emsiion files, once I changed the emission files the model would give me the error messsages

Hi Renji,
It sounds like there is an incompatibility with your created emission files. Can you provide more information about how and what you are creating and how you are reading those emissions into the model? Can you also attach your atm log file and your user_nl_cam?
Best,
Rebecca

HI,Rebecca
I created the emissions file by using the python,I created a netcdf file which has the same format with the emissions-cmip6_bc_a4_anthro_surface_1750-2015_0.9x1.25_c20170608.nc then I replaced the data in CMIP6 file with my own netcdf files(just the year of 2011).I changed the user_nl_cam to read the new netcdf files by imitating the example in the CESM offical website. Here is my atm log file and my user_nl_cam~.It seems like my emssion files have 0.15E+02 NANS, but I convince that there are no NaNs in my files~
Any messages will be helpful!

Hi Renji, did you figure out this problem? I met the same question. Can you give me some suggestions?

Hi Renji and ZYue,

Did you check out the troubleshooting page?
Troubleshooting - CAM-Chem - wiki.ucar.edu

If you are creating your own emission files, there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind, including:
1. Dates need to cover the dates of your run
2. The netCDF file version needs to be a specific type (see troubleshooting)
3. Try without missing values or Fill Values (change them all to zero and remove the variable attribute.)

Hope that helps!
Best,
Rebecca
