What version of the code are you using?
CESM2.2/CAM6

Have you made any changes to files in the source tree?
Changes in nudging and dust scheme modules

Describe every step you took leading up to the problem:
I am working on adapting the model to nudge aerosols up to current days.
Datasets for volcano emissions are limited to CMIP6 (2015)

Describe your problem or question:

I would like to know if somebody knows where I can get a most recent dataset for volcano emissions to be used in CAM6 and if if they know if there's a script to prepare the files to be assimilated in CAM-Chem (FCnudge)

Hi Toni,

Our local expert in volcanic emissions, Ilaria Quaglia, provided the following:
The most recent volcanic emissions dataset comes from UOEXETER-CMIP-2-2-1 (Aubry et. al (2025): Stratospheric aerosol forcing for CMIP7 (part 1): Optical properties for pre-industrial, historical, and scenario simulations (version 2.2.1)). This dataset includes only explosive volcanic eruptions affecting the stratosphere (up to 2023); no updated emissions file for volcanic degassing has been provided.

I have processed this dataset for several grids using the code I uploaded on GitHub, which includes a README file with instructions.

We also have these emissions processed for use in CESM and available on glade. Information can be found on the chemistry Wiki:

Best,
Rebecca
